I am interested to blend computer science with biotechnology and come out with technologies that would automate most of the research process and help to bring faster solutions for life.

Genome Asia 100k is a not for profit organisation under the campaign Map the Gap. It aims to sequence 100k genomes from the unique South Asian population and prepare a data set that can be used for research purpose. Being connected with this organization, it helped me to learn about the uniqueness in Asian genes and also helped me to grow as a leader by managing the Indian volunteer network
Green Hour is an organisation started by few students from ISM Dhanbad. It was featured in World Future Energy Summit in Abu Dhabi and was also selected as top 9 projects worldwide by Team TOTAL Grants. It is based on creating awareness on sustainable use of resources. It follows a unique concept of creating awareness through activities.
My passion towards computers led me to a technology savvy startup at KIIT Technology Business Incubator in Bhubaneswar. Here I developed my skills in python for data science using machine learning pipelines. Image processing using python libraries was also part of the work.
Internship at BARC through Indian Academy Fellowship was a prestigious opportunity. This was the time I started gaining interest towards computational biology, writing algorithms, running commands in super computers and playing with huge amount of data. This period in BARC made me realize that the field of my interest is bioinformatics.
Working on a social innovation under a SIIP fellow was a wonderful experience. Work involved making iron fortified food product formulations for maternal healthcare and prevention of anemia. The entire programme brought about a change in the approach at which I used to look at problems, how to find them and then systematically solve them.
This was the first fellowship I received and the first opportunity to work outside the college laboratory. It was based on physics where I had to study the statistical mechanics of some particles. It was again a great experience staying and working in one of the most beautiful and calm campuses amongst so many scientists.
I am currently pursuing masters in biotechnology. Biotech has solutions for life and this is what interested me to pursue this field. It is quite amazing to know about the little cells that makes up life.
